A mother was arrested on charges of kidnapping after allegedly threatening to kill her young daughter before agreeing to sell her to a family member for cash, police in Ohio said.
Cleveland Police said that they arrested 25-year-old Elizabeth Gayton, after being accused of trying to sell her 10-month-old daughter for $500.
An arrest warrant was issued for the child's father, 27-year-old Corryaune Paige, who was charged with kidnapping and endangering a child.

Gayton and Paige took the baby from a safe and healthy environment before going to a relative's home and trying to sell her.
The family member refused, so Gayton and Paige left the house on foot with the child, who was barefoot and wearing only a thin layer of clothes.
Gayton returned to the house the next day and tried again to sell his daughter. The family member contacted the police. After Gayton’s arrest, investigators learned that a second child was abandoned.
Police said that Paige made threats to kill the child. The Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services said that they are working to ensure the safety of Gayton’s four children.
Each child has a different father. Two of the children are safe with a family member, one child is with the father and the other is in foster care.
Gayton is being held on bail of $25,000.
