Despite denials by the Presidency that it is not in support of the postponement of the February general elections, fresh allegations have emerged that President Goodluck Jonathan is in support of the shift, reports The Sun.
Jonathan’s alleged support follows the continued rise in public support for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
The postponement would allow the President and his campaign team to strategize and gain more support.

Jonathan has allegedly continued to discreetly give his backing to the postponement by instructing some of his political aides and associates to attack the Independent National Electoral Commission and its chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega
The frequent attacks on Jega by Jonathan’s kinsman and staunch supporter, Edwin Clark, is part of the plot to coerce the INEC chairman to shift the election.
